May 8 Luncheon - Managing a Crisis: It's All In A Day's Work RSVP today for our May 8 meeting. Our speaker will
be Susan Vernon-Devlin, director of public relations services for Massey
Communications in Orlando. For six years, Susan shared her talents with local
government, developing community outreach and media relations programs
for the cities of Casselberry and Oviedo, and for Seminole County
government, where she led an award-winning team. She is a certified
Advanced Public Information Officer trained in crisis communications
through The Department of Homeland Security Office of Emergency
Management and FEMA. She recently put this expertise in high gear for
the City of Sanford in connection with the Trayvon Martin case. Susan’s experience also includes producing
television programs for the Travel Channel, Discovery Channel and TLC.
Early in her career, Susan also produced feature segments for National
Public Radio. Susan is a member and secretary of the UCF Town & Gown
Council executive board, the vice chair of UCF’s Community Council and a
member of the Croom’s Academy Business Advisory Council. She holds a
Master’s degree in Journalism from Columbia University and lives in East
Orlando with her husband, Pat, and daughter, Alexis. This luncheon meeting will take place at Daytona
Beach International Airport, 700 Catalina Drive, in The Volusia Room,
beginning at 11:30 a.m. The registration fee, which includes lunch, is
$18 for students, $20 for FPRA members and $25 for non-members. Register
