News-Journal Publisher Ron Wallace to speak at Feb. 14 meeting Ron Wallace, publisher of The Daytona Beach News-Journal, will speak at the Feb. 14 meeting of the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. The meeting will be in the Volusia Room at the Daytona Beach International Airport, 700 Catalina Drive, Daytona Beach. Registration and networking begin at 11:30 a.m., with lunch at noon. The cost is $20 for members, $25 for guests and $18 for students. The RSVP deadline is Friday, Feb. 10. Late cancellations and no-shows will be billed. Prior to becoming The News-Journal's publisher in January, Wallace was publisher of The Daily Commercial, South Lake Press and Commercial Press in the Leesburg area. He began his career in newspapers in 1977 and has worked for a number of news organizations over the years.
