March Luncheon: Rebranding Space

The Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Volusia/Flagler Chapter will host a professional development program exploring how strategic communications is helping shape the future of the space industry.

The program, “Rebranding Space: How Space Florida Is Shaping a New Narrative for a Changing Industry,” will feature Alayna Curry, APR, director of public relations for Space Florida. The event will take place Thursday, March 19, at Brown & Brown, 300 N. Beach St., Daytona Beach.

As the space sector evolves beyond exploration to include commercial ventures, private investment and tourism, communications professionals play an increasingly important role in positioning organizations and regions for growth. Space Florida, the state’s aerospace finance and development authority, is leading efforts to build a robust space ecosystem supporting an industry projected to reach $1.8 trillion in value within the next decade.

Curry will discuss how Space Florida leverages strategic public relations to reshape public perception, strengthen partnerships and promote Florida as a global leader in aerospace innovation.

At Space Florida, Curry directs external communications and collaborates with commercial, government and military partners to advance the state’s position as a premier space hub. She brings more than 15 years of experience in public relations, including leadership roles with Orlando Health and the Central Florida Expressway Authority. Curry is a past president of the FPRA Orlando Area Chapter and holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising/public relations from the University of Central Florida.

The program is designed for public relations, marketing and communications professionals interested in learning how emerging industries are using strategic messaging to drive awareness, investment and long-term success.
