Director of Volusia County Beach Safety, Tammy Malphurs, will receive the Roger Pynn APR, CPRC, Great Communicator Award

Join the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) as we honor Tammy Malphurs, Director of Volusia County Beach Safety, as the recipient of the 24th Annual Roger Pynn APR, CPRC Great Communicator Award.

This prestigious award recognizes individuals whose careers exemplify outstanding communication, community service, leadership, and public trust. Tammy's three decades of service along Volusia County's coastline have made her one of the region's most respected public information leaders and a trusted voice during emergencies, public safety initiatives, and community outreach efforts.

As the first female director in the history of Volusia County Beach Safety, Tammy began her career as a lifeguard and rose through the ranks to become a triple-certified ocean rescue lifeguard, law enforcement officer, emergency medical technician, and ultimately department director. Her commitment to transparent communication, public education, and lifesaving awareness has strengthened community trust and helped keep residents and visitors safe.
