
“Myth of Crisis Communications” with Volusia/Flagler FPRA and Crime Stoppers
Public information officers and public relations specialists will learn about “Media Relations and the Myth of Crisis Communications” at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, October 16, at the Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art, 352 S. Nova Rd., Daytona Beach. Roland Clee, a professional writer and consultant with Command Staff Consulting, will share communications lessons learned from major cases including the Orlando Pulse nightclub mass shooting.
The professional development meeting is hosted by the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association and Sponsored by Crime Stoppers of Northeast FL. Clee assists local governments and public safety agencies through his business, CommandStaffConsulting.com. He served a major Florida police department as a Community Service Officer for more than 26 years. His career included uniformed patrol, training, media relations, intelligence, criminal investigations, and chief’s staff. As a member of the Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida board, he writes the American Peace Officer newsletter; and speaks at public safety, recruiting and leadership conferences.
